"This is my first attempt at bonsai and this kit is perfect. Soil seems great for seed germination and I'll transplant it into something different when the plants get more established. I thought the royal poinciana (flame tree) would be last to germinate due to the hardness of the seeds but it is first to germinate! I did soak them as instructed for 24 hours and then I clipped off the ends of the long seeds and scored the length of the seeds to help them along. I guess it worked! I'm still waiting on all the others but given I just started I'm not expecting anything too soon. Note: I'm also using a warming pad under the plants and a grow light when the sun moves away from the window. I also have them tented under some clear plastic wrap. I'm very pleased with this kit and I'm excited for more trees to grow." - Monte
